About Wildy Simmonds & Hill

Wildy, Simmonds & Hill is an independent, family-owned law publisher. Our history goes back to a time when publishers, printers and booksellers were one and the same. While the Wildy & Sons bookshop has been trading from Lincoln’s Inn Archway since 1830, we have come across books published by the firm in the early 1820s.

Throughout the years we have continued to publish our law titles and work closely with our valued authors, while maintaining the company’s high levels of service to the legal community . In 2002 Brian Hill joined Wildy & Sons, and brought with him his publishing company, Simmonds & Hill. At this point the publishing imprint became known as Wildy, Simmonds & Hill. In 2008 we also took over the complete list of Callow Publishing, which included titles such as A Practitioner’s Guide to Wills and Enquiries of Local Authorities and Water Companies: A Practical Guide.

Today, Wildy. Simmonds & Hill publishes legal titles for practitioners on a wide range of subjects from wills & probate and criminal law to legal skills and property law. Several of our titles such as Saggerson on Travel Law and Litigation, Mortgage Receivership: Law and Practiceand War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation: Law and Practice are now recognised as leading authoritative texts in their respective areas of law.

Although our focus these days is on publishing practical texts written by experienced legal practitioners, we also publish titles like How Judges Decide Cases and Advocacy: A Practical Guide that appeal to law students as well as lawyers. In keeping with the traditions of Wildy & Sons, we still publish the occasional work of legal literature: Lord Denning: Life, Law and Legacy, Marshall Hall: A Law Unto Himself, and The Snail and the Ginger Beer: The Singular Case of Donoghue v Stevenson are among our most popular titles.

Our recently published new titles include Crown and Government Land: Prerogative, Statute and Common Law and Digital Assets and Probate: A Practitioner’s Guide. We have also published several new editions of key practitioner works, such as Personal Insolvency Practice: Litigation, Procedure and Precedents and
A Practitioner’s Guide to Inheritance Act Claims.

Wildy, Simmonds & Hill is always looking to develop its publishing list. If you are interested in becoming one of our authors, please contact us at wsh@wildy.com
