The Official Commentary by Professor Sir Roy Goode, C.B.E. QC has been an authoritative guide to the Cape Town Convention and Aircraft Protocol, providing an overview of the Convention and Protocol, a detailed analysis of each of the 99 Articles comprising the two instruments, together with 48 illustrative examples, and 12 annexes. It has become the indispensable companion to the Convention and Protocol.

The Revised Edition, also by Sir Roy Goode, comprehensively updates the Official Commentary, which has been substantially revised and expanded, with additional illustrations, to take account of developments that have occurred in the six years since its original publication. These include the entry into force of the Convention and Protocol, the establishment of the International Registry and the issue of its Regulations and Procedures, and the development of practical experience with the complex declarations system and with substantial numbers of transactions under the Convention and Protocol.
