The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, a short statute, has generated a considerable body of case law. It is the developing law, contained in court decisions, which lawyers need to know in everyday practice.

This new book looks at every reported Scottish case under the 1971 Act. It takes the pith of each case and then comments on it. Material is arranged under sections of the statute and may be accessed either thematically, from a charge in an indictment or complaint, or by case citation. It is unique in three respects:-

• in being exclusively Scottish
• in completeness
• in containing critical comment on those judgments which are controversial
